Divino Fragmento
Series of 9 photographs taken in the British Museum gallery where the Parthenon marbles are exhibited, in particular the collection of statuary removed from the eastern and western pediments of this temple. The sculptures, made by Phidias and his school between the years 447 and 432 B.C., represent the gods and heroes of classical antiquity. They were extracted at the beginning of the 19th century by the British ambassador, who subsequently sold them to the British Museum.
The photographs are crossed by nearly invisible texts describing the actions and powers of these gods and heroes, as well as their original position in the Temple and their current position in the Museum.
